It's my Birthday!!!
Yesterday was my birthday and on Wednesday afternoon my Mother-in-law, Carolyn was trying to get me out of the house to run some errands and I just didn't want to go. It was about 2:30 and for me my day is almost over by that time and I'd rather stay at home. I told her I'd take care of it tomorrow. She quickly responds, "But you can't it's your birthday!" I didn't care that it was my birthday. I would just take care of things in the morning. Then I told that I might be working. She blurts out, "You aren't going to be working tomorrow!" as if she knew what I would be doing tomorrow. I asked her, "Why wouldn't I be working tomorrow? Do you have something planned for me?" She got this funny look on her face of excitement and just kept saying, "OH no, but I know that you won't be working and you'll be hanging out with me." Anyways... I figured it out by then that something was going on. When Chris got home I told him that I might be going into the office tomorrow and he tells me that I was suppose to call my boss. But I really wanted to know if he had something planned so I wouldn't go in to the office. He kept saying, "You probably should just call Jennifer and see whats going on." I told Chris then what his Mom had said that I couldn't go into work. So he goes out into the kitchen and says, "Mom, why would you tell Whitney that she doesn't have to work tomorrow?" From there the cat was out of the bag. Chris had taken the day off and was spending the day with me. YEAH!!!! We had breakfast in the morning and did our favorite thing...Barnes and Noble. In the afternoon Chris baked my traditional birthday cake, Cranberry cake with butterscotch sauce. So yummy!!! He did a great job. Then we topped off the evening with dinner at Don Pablos with Kevin and Sara. What a day!
Thanks again for all the birthday wishes! I am very excited to see how God is going to use and mold me this coming year as he has this last year. I love you all.
Here are some pictures of the "baking of the cake"!
